Managing Personal Data & Profile Visibility

Updated: May 31, 2026

Controlling Your Digital Presence

Your profile on Qerios is your public face, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't have total control over it. We believe that privacy is a fundamental right. Whether you want to be a prominent public figure or a private observer, Qerios provides the granular settings to match your comfort level.

Privacy First: We never share your private data with third parties. Your settings are designed to be intuitive, giving you the power to curate your experience on the fly.

Customizing Your Profile Visibility

Your profile at

qerios.com/@username
is the home for your answers, sketches, and shared music. You can manage how others perceive this space through several key settings:

  • Profile Customization: You can update your avatar (via custom upload or DiceBear-generated), bio, and display name at any time. Remember that your bio is public, so avoid including sensitive personal information.
  • Public vs. Private: While Qerios is designed as a social network, you can choose to limit the visibility of certain features or restrict who can send you questions.
  • Username Management: You can change your username once every week. This helps you rebrand if needed while preventing abuse of the handle system.

Curating Your Interactions

Sometimes, managing your visibility means managing who can reach you. We provide robust tools to curate your interaction list:

  • Blocking: If you block a user, it is mutual. You will no longer see their content, and they cannot interact with your profile, send messages, or send anonymous questions.
  • Muting: Muting allows you to silence a user without notifying them. Their posts will stop appearing in your feed, and you won't receive notifications from them.
  • Chat Requests: Private messages (DMs) are protected by a request system. You must accept a chat request before a user can send you direct messages. This prevents unwanted solicitation.

Managing Your Data

We believe you should have ownership over your data. If you decide that Qerios is no longer for you, we provide clear paths to manage or remove your information:

  1. Deactivation: You can temporarily deactivate your account. This hides your profile and content until you decide to return.
  2. Account Deletion: You can choose to delete your account permanently.
    • Grace Period: When you request deletion, your data enters a 30-day "grace period." During this time, you can reverse the decision.
    • Hard Delete: After 30 days, your account and all associated data are permanently purged from our servers.
